The government of Andhra Pradesh will provide free gas cylinders to eligible beneficiaries through the "Deepam" scheme starting from Diwali. Families with a ration card and an LPG connection will receive one free cylinder every four months.
Minister Nadendla Manohar revealed that the scheme of free gas cylinders will be started in AP from Diwali. Several important decisions were taken in the AP Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. The AP Cabinet approved the cancellation of previous government land allocations for Sarada Peetha, cancellation of Senerage on sand and GST, including the implementation of the Deepam scheme. As part of Super Six, the state government will provide free gas cylinders to women through Deepam scheme. This scheme will be implemented from October 31. Under this scheme every year about Rs. The free gas cylinder initiative requires a ration card as standard, and it is available to all eligible families holding an LPG connection. He mentioned that it is feasible to receive a cylinder every four months. A timetable has been established to distribute three cylinders next year. According to him, the first cylinder will be provided between April and July, the second between August and November, and the third between December and March 31. The state government will deposit the subsidy amount in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries within 48 hours.
