Adidas will be the new gear sponsor for the Indian cricket team, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah announced on Monday that sportswear and merchandising behemoth Adidas has signed on as the Indian cricket team's new sponsor. Shah announced the change in sponsor on Twitter. "I'm happy to announce @BCCI's partnership with Adidas as a kit sponsor," he tweeted. We are dedicated to developing the game of cricket and are ecstatic to collaborate with one of the top sportswear companies in the world. Welcome to the team, @adidas."

Killer Jeans, the current sponsor, will only hold the sponsorship rights through May 31. Adidas will then assume control. Prior to Killer Jeans, MPL served as the Indian team's kit sponsor. In December of last year, MPL ceded the rights to Kewal Kiran Clothing Limit.
Additionally, the present sponsor, the edtech behemoth Byju's, was said to be open to terminating the agreement before the contractual deadline of November 2023 in December of last year. According to rumours, the BCCI is also looking for a new principal sponsor.
The Indian squad is anticipated to sport the new Adidas uniforms in the forthcoming World Test Championship championship game. The ICC ODI World Cup will be held in India this year from October to November. Before the new blue uniforms are used, the squad has a number of ODIs scheduled.
