Iam Tongi Crowned American Idol Champion In The Spectacular Finale Of Season 21

Iam Tongi, Megan Danielle, and Colin Stough competed for America's vote one more time before American Idol announced its new champion.

Following all of the voting, Tongi was named the next Idol by the American public after giving live performances of "Making Memories of Us," "Cool Down," "I'll Be Seeing You," and "Don't Let Go."

The platform was also occupied by Danielle, who sang songs including "God Whispered Your Name," "Faithfully," and "Dream Girl."

After performing "Stupid Boy" and "Either Way," Stough came in third.

Numerous celebrities graced the American Idol stage all night long. The Top 12 competitors joined Pitbull and Lil Jon for "Give Me Everything" and "Jumpin."

We were taken back in time by TLC and Lucy Love to recall some of the songs from the group, such as "No Scrubs," "Creep," and "Waterfalls."

Zachariah Smith and Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon performed "Take It On the Run." The songs "Save Me" by Jelly Roll and "Need a Favour" by Oliver Steele were played.

"Padam Padam" and "I Can't Get You Out of My Head" were performed on stage by Nutsa and Kylie Minogue, respectively.

The Top 12 competitors were introduced to Lionel Richie, who sang "Sail On," and Keith Urban, who sang "Wild Hearts."

Iam Tongi and James Blunt sang "Monsters," while Ellie Goulding and Tyson Venegas sang "Miracle" and "Burn." "These Are the Days" and "Thank God I Do" were sung by finalist Lauren Daigle and Megan Danielle.

Luke Bryan sang "But I've Got a Beer in My Hand" alone before Colin Stough joined him for "Slow Hand." "Bust Your Windows" was sung by Jasmine Sullivan and Wé Ani, and "Heart Like a Truck" by Lainey Wilson, Marybeth Byrd, and Warren Peay.

For the songs "By the Grace of God" and "Still Need You," Katy Perry performed on stage alongside Haven Madison.

In order to sing the song "The Impossible Dream (The Quest)" with the Top 2 competitors this year, American Idol invited Season 2 finalists Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.

On Tuesday, May 23 at 8 a.m. ET on ABC, Tongi will be on Good Morning America where he will be interviewed with runner-up Danielle.
