After being open for less than a year, the two-day hotel experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Disney+ World is shutting and will set sail for the last time in September.

The 48-hour space adventure incorporates aspects from the company's resorts, cruise lines, and theme parks. The Galactic Starcruiser, which is close to Disney's Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, was first hinted at during the D23 Expo in 2019, and it debuted in March 2022.

Approximately $1,200 per person each day is spent on the trip, with family packages costing closer to $6,000 for the two-day expedition. That can be a difficult figure to comprehend, especially when you realise that, depending on the hotel and restaurant options, a typical Disney vacation for a family of four might cost that much for a week-long trip.

But the Galactic Starcruiser has been praised as the ultimate Star Wars experience, a fan's fantasy come true. A hotel room, all meals and beverages excluding alcoholic and speciality beverages, a day trip to the Hollywood Studios theme park, a Magic Band and valet service at drop-off are all included in the two-day excursion.

But the Galactic Starcruiser is not only a lodging. It is a really absorbing experience. On the Halcyon, travellers spend their time meeting new people and choosing whether to support the light or the evil side.

The overall story's basic idea is as follows: For a two-day trip, you are a passenger aboard a spaceship. A First Order officer and several stormtroopers boarded the ship during the voyage in order to find Resistance agents. Along with these antagonists, a Star Wars plot must also have spies, musicians, rebels, and hesitant heroes.

Naturally, other well-known characters also make an appearance, such as Kylo Ren, Rey, and Chewbacca.

A Thea Award for exceptional performance in the field of themed entertainment was given to the event for receiving some of the best guest satisfaction ratings in Walt Disney World history.

However, the boutique hotel turned out to be out of reach for most Star Wars aficionados.

"Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognised for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment," the business stated in a statement. As we prepare for its final journey, we will use what we've learned to build future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans. "This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms."

Disney is said to have spent $2 billion developing its two immersive Star Wars theme parks in Florida and California, however it is not known if this figure includes the cost of building the Starcruiser.
