The Marvels, the follow-up to 2019's "Captain Marvel," features Brie Larson once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time, Teyonah Parris from "WandaVision" and Iman Vellani from "Ms. Marvel" join Larson in the limelight alongside other female MCU actors.
After the Disney+ series "Ms. Marvel," which debuted Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. the young New Jersey superhero Ms. Marvel, the much awaited sequel to Carol Danvers' origin tale takes place.
The first look at the movie "Marvels" was only presented to panel attendees at the 2022 D23 Expo before the first "Marvels" trailer was released. The first clip sheds light on what happened following the "Ms. Marvel" post-credits scene, in which Kamala appeared to switch places with Carol. Soon later, "The Marvels" teaser resumed, with Nick Fury and Captain Monica Rambeau serving as astronauts for the Sabre Space Station. (Samuel L. Jackson). The transformation of Monica into Ms. Marvel occurs when she encounters a jump in the space-time continuum, demonstrating that she, Carol, and Kamala all possess special transforming abilities.
Carol Danvers, as Captain Marvel, has recovered her identity from the oppressive Kree and exacted revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, according to the official "Marvels" description from Marvel Studios. However, unanticipated consequences force Carol to bear the weight of a universe in disarray. Her powers combine with those of Jersey City superfan Kamala Khan, alias Ms. Marvel, and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau, when her responsibilities take her to an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary. To rescue the universe, this odd group will need to come together and learn how to cooperate.
With "The Marvels," filmmaker Nia DaCosta will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut after directing the "Candyman" revival in 2021. This accomplishment makes her the first black woman and fourth woman to direct a movie in the MCU. The film's screenplay was co-written by DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.
Park Seo-joon, a South Korean actor best recognised for his work in "Parasite" and the TV show "Itaewon Class," also appears in the movie. Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff, and Mohan Kapur, who play Kamala's older brother, mother, and father, respectively, are other confirmed cast members, along with Zawe Ashton, who will play an unnamed villain. Goose, the beloved Flerken character, will also make a comeback on screen.
On November 10, 2023, "The Marvels" opens in theatres after being postponed from this summer. Below is a link to the official trailer.
