Poha Nuggets Recipe: Crispy and Healthy Monsoon Snack

The ideal combination to enjoy during the monsoons is crispy nuggets and a steaming cup of tea. You can simply prepare some delectable nuggets at home with only a few simple ingredients, such as poha, potatoes, onions, capsicum, peas, and a few spices. These nuggets may be made with only 2 tablespoons of oil, so there's no need to deep fry them and make the snack especially fatty. We've coated the nuggets in breadcrumbs and dunked them in a cornflour slurry to make them crispier. You can skip this step if you don't have any breadcrumbs. When frying the nuggets, tuck a little slice of cheese inside to give them a hint of cheesiness. To make the nuggets healthy, serve them with tomato ketchup and mint chutney. Ingredients of Poha Nuggets (4 Servings)

  • 1/2 cup pressed rice
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 tablespoon peas
  • 1/4 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon red chilli powder
  • salt As required
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 1 large potato
  • 1/4 capsicum (green pepper)
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon dry mango powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • 2 tablespoon bread crumbs

How to make poha nuggets

Step 1: Wash the poha
Poha should be cleaned and given a brief bath. Put the poha in a basin after draining the extra water.

Step 2: Mash the poha with potatoes
Boiling potatoes should be added to a bowl and mashed. Using your hands, combine it with the poha that has been soaked.

Step 3: Add veggies
Add onion, pepper, peas, and coriander leaves that have been finely chopped now. Give a decent mix once more.

Step 4: Add the spices
Salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, and cumin powder should now be added. Add rice flour as well. To combine and create a dough, use your hands.

Step 5: Make nuggets
To form cylindrical nuggets, take little amounts of dough and roll them between your palms.

Step 6: Prepare the cornflour slurry
Add 1/4 cup of water and the cornflour slurry to a bowl. Create a slurry by mixing.

Step 7: Coat the nuggets
After thoroughly coating the nuggets in the slurry, roll them in the breadcrumbs to cover all surfaces.

Step 8: Shallow fry
In a pan, heat two teaspoons of oil. Put the nuggets in the pan and lightly fried them until they are golden brown.

Step 9: Ready to be served
Your poha nuggets are now prepared for serving. Put ketchup and mint chutney on them. Enjoy!
