Jimmy Kimmel Makes Ozempic Weight Loss Joke During Oscars Presentation

After making fun of the alleged widespread use of the diabetic medication Ozempic among Hollywood A-listers, Jimmy Kimmel amused Oscar fans. Jimmy Kimmel, who is hosting the 95th Academy Awards, ascended the stage on Sunday, March 12, and delivered an opening monologue that included gags about Steven Spielberg and Nicole Kidman's AMC advertisements.

Later on in his monologue, Kimmel made fun of people who utilise an injectable prescription medicine to shed pounds. He told the audience: “Everybody looks so great. When I look around this room, I can’t help but wonder ‘Is Ozempic right for me?’”

The crowd cracked up at the joke, and viewers were amused enough to post about it on social media.

One user tweeted: "Can’t believe Jimmy Kimmel made an open reference to Ozempic in front of all of Hollywood,” while another added: “Not Jimmy Kimmel making fun of the Ozempic craze in Hollywood.”

Another user posted “Jimmy Kimmel wasting no time with the Ozempic jokes.”

AAnother viewer praised Kimmel for his “so incredibly perfect” choice to make an Olympic joke within the first two minutes of the Academy Oscars.

“BINGO CARD! Took less than two minutes for Jimmy Kimmel to make an Ozempic quip!” one viewer joked.

With claims of its widespread use in Hollywood and social media, the diabetes medication's popularity as a weight-loss strategy has grown.

Plastic surgeons and dermatologists have cautioned against an increase in "Ozempic face," or premature facial ageing, which can happen as a result of weight reduction, despite the increased use.
