Best Derrick Henry Trade Destinations If Titans Deal Star RB

Derrick Since his entry into the league in 2016, Henry has dominated for the Tennessee Titans. But Henry could not be around much longer as the Titans attempt to trim expenses. Henry has been a potential trade target for the Titans, according to Michael Silver of Bally Sports. Tennessee would save $6.3 million against the cap if they traded for Henry. This season, the running back will earn $10.5 million. If the Titans traded Henry, they would save money but lose one of the league's top running backs. Henry has run for 8,335 yards and 78 touchdowns throughout his seven-year career. In 2019 and 2020, he set league records for running yards and touchdowns. Henry is the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, a three-time Pro Bowler, and an All-Pro. In order to clear up cap space, Tennessee has already dismissed a large number of veterans. Ran Carter, the new general manager, could decide to trade Henry as his next move in creating the Titans in his image. These three clubs make the most sense as prospective destinations if Derrick Henry is moved.

Chicago Bears

With an average of 177.3 yards per game on the ground this past season, the Chicago Bears actually topped the League in rushing yards. Nonetheless, quarterback Justin Fields was largely responsible for Chicago's running success. The Bears could try to team Henry with Fields, a powerful running back. Fields carried for 1,143 yards and 8 touchdowns in 15 games. He came in ninth overall and had the most running yards of any quarterback. The best carry average in the NFL was 7.1 yards for Fields. Fields will be a key player in Chicago's offence regardless of its composition next season. David Montgomery, a running back free agent for the Bears, is one of their own. Nevertheless, this past season, Montgomery only carried for 801 yards and five touchdowns. Chicago would become a far more powerful force with Henry. The over $100 million in cap space, which is the greatest in the league, is Chicago's most valuable commodity. The Bears' offence might really get off to a terrific start if some of that cash was used to assume Henry's contract.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills boast one of the league's top offences with Josh Allen at quarterback. Buffalo, though, could try to enhance that offensive in the wake of a dismal playoff exit. Henry is a good running back upgrade, so that's where you should start. The majority of the year was spent as the starting running back for the Bills by Devin Singletary, a free agency this summer. He only gained 819 yards on the ground while scoring five touchdowns. In his four years with the Bills, he has failed to surpass 1,000 yards. James Cook was selected by Buffalo with a second-round pick in 2022. Henry would provide the Bills with a much safer alternative though. At an average of 397.6 yards per game, the Bills had the second-best offence in the NFL at the end of the regular season in 2022. Buffalo's running offence, which averaged 139.5 yards per game, was seventh-best. Yet without Allen's 47.6 running yards a game, the Bills would only average 91.9 YPG, which would rank 29th in the NFL.

Miami Dolphins

Every running back on the Miami Dolphins roster is expected to leave the team in free agency. The Dolphins had issues running the ball last year. Derrick Henry would help Miami with both issues. Future unrestricted free agents include Myles Gaskin, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Raheem Mostert. As a restricted free agent, Salvon Ahmed is susceptible to a counteroffer from the Dolphins. Miami, though, obviously needs a reliable running back option for the long term.The Dolphins had one of the top offences in the league last season, averaging 364.5 yards per game as they finished sixth overall. They had a terrible run game, though. Miami was 25th overall, averaging 99.2 rushing yards per game. This offseason, much has been said about the Dolphins' strategy for using Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback. The need at running back, however, could be more urgent. The Dolphins not only had a terrible season in that area last year, but they also risk losing their entire running back in free agency. Last year, the Dolphins barely made the playoffs. Derrick Henry would significantly increase Miami's chances of making a strong postseason run.
