It was their eighth defeat in a UCL knockout match, but in their previous seven losses, they had advanced to the next round more frequently (four times) than not (three). Borussia Dortmund also has a bad track record in the competition when playing away in England, having dropped their past five Champions League games there against Premier League teams, with their most recent victory coming against Arsenal in October 2013.
