Officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation announced today that the Duhai Depot of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is now operational and equipped with cutting-edge facilities. The 17-km Duhai-Sahibabad priority length of India's first RRTS, which the officials had previously stated will be operational by the end of March, would be geared at becoming the most environmentally friendly and commuter-focused transportation system possible. "The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor's crucial Duhai Depot is prepared to manage operations. Modern, state-of-the-art facilities are now operational for the comprehensive upkeep of RRTS trainsets "an NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Company) representative said. They claimed that in less than two years, infrastructure had been constructed, including office buildings, workshops, and inspection bay lines. The Regional Rail Transit System (RRTS) connects major urban centres, villages, and metropolitan areas throughout the National Capital Region at high speeds and frequencies (NCR). The RRTS's three priority corridors—Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Panipat, and Delhi-Gurugram-Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror-Alwar—will all be implemented in stages. The 82-km-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor has an anticipated daily ridership of 8 lakh, and once the RRTS is operating, it would remove more than 1 lakh private automobiles from the road. It is predicted that the percentage of people using public transportation along the route would rise from 37% to 63% if the Delhi-Meerut RRTS line is implemented.
