In New Delhi: Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, will arrive in India on Thursday for a two-day visit and serve as both the main guest and keynote speaker at the 8th Raisina Dialogue, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA). This high-level travel from Italy to India will be the first in five years. Antonio Tajan, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, as well as a significant corporate group, will travel with Meloni. The prime minister and Meloni will have in-depth discussions about bilateral, regional, and international problems, according to the ministry. On March 2, in the late afternoon, PM Meloni will meet with President Droupadi Murmu. The long-standing friendship between India and Italy is anticipated to be further strengthened and deepened by Prime Minister Meloni's visit stated the MEA in a statement. It was stated that both parties would assess their performance in relation to the major outcomes of the November 2020 Summit, enhance security and defence cooperation, work towards closer economic ties, increase opportunities for talent mobility, and provide strategic direction for ongoing science and technology collaboration. This year, India and Italy are commemorating 75 years of diplomatic ties. According to the MEA, "the complex bilateral relationship is founded on shared cultural values, commitment to promote economic growth, partnership in the areas of green energy, science and technology, and military, and is defined by convergence on regional and global concerns." It stated that "the two nations have also been closely collaborating in several international forums." There will be a business roundtable during the visit.
