In the most recent ICC Test rankings for bowlers, India's Ravichandran Ashwin rose two spots on Wednesday to take the top spot. James Anderson, a seasoned English pacer, was supplanted by Ashwin as the top test bowler in the world. After collecting six wickets in India's six-wicket victory against Australia in the second Test of the four-match series in Delhi, the off-spinner moved up two positions. With England's shocking one-run loss to New Zealand in the Wellington Test, Anderson dropped to second position. The 36-year-old Ashwin initially won the top prize among Test bowlers in 2015, and he has held that position ever since. Ashwin took significant wickets in India's victory in Delhi, dismissing Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne from the game in the first over before returning to take up Alex Carey for a duck. The off-spinner was back at it in the second inning, scooping out three of the top five as his partner in spin-bowling, Ravindra Jadeja, whittled down the remaining hitters for Australia from the other end. In the final two home Tests for India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ashwin has a chance to maintain his current position as the No. 1 batsman. After Anderson supplanted Australia skipper Pat Cummins at the top last time, Ashwin is the third No.1 Test bowler in as many weeks. In the most recent rankings, the group is still the top three bowlers. Anderson is currently five rating points behind Ashwin, who is still at 864. Jadeja is boosted by his 10 wickets against Australia in the second Test. into the bowling rankings' seventh spot. The Test All-Rounder Rankings' top two spots are held by Jadeja and Ashwin. Joe Root of England, who rose two positions to ninth in the all-rounder rankings, is the other significant mover. In Wellington, Root's revival to form saw him go over Travis Head and Babar Azam to take third place in the ICC Test Batting Rankings. In terms of Test bats, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are still top and second, respectively. Tom Blundell of New Zealand has moved up four spots to seventh position in the top 10 after helping the Black Caps win the legendary follow-on match against England by one run. Harry Brook, a promising player for England, keeps climbing the batting ranks at an incredible rate following yet another amazing century, moving up 15 spots to tie Virat Kohli for 16th place.
