UFC: Darren Till Named Among Three Fighters Recently Removed From UFC Roster

Darren Till was just let go from the UFC roster, therefore it looks that he will soon be a free agent. The former UFC welterweight championship candidate just suffered a defeat to Dricus du Plessis, who had his moments and was successful with his elbows, but du Plessis rallied and finished him out in the third round. When the fight was over, Till was heard telling UFC commentator Bruce Buffer that he thought he had ruptured his ACL. He's had a string of unfortunate ailments that have caused him to forfeit contests. When 'The Gorilla' entered the UFC in 2015, he was a highly anticipated welterweight prospect. He rose through the ranks swiftly and finally took on Tyron Woodley for the UFC 228's welterweight championship. At the time, he had a perfect 17-0-1 MMA record, but Woodley submitted him in the second round to keep the belt. Darren Till was on a losing skid prior to being removed from the roster Before being dropped from the UFC roster, Darren Till was on a three-fight losing streak that includes defeats to Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson, and Dricus du Plessis. The former welterweight championship contender has gone 1-4 in his five fights since Tyron Woodley, who he lost to. At the time, it was thought that moving up to 185 pounds would provide better results because he wouldn't have to lose as much weight, but his lone victory came against Kelvin Gastelum via split decision at UFC 244. After losing to du Plessis, The Gorilla got a post-fight bonus for "Fight of the Night," giving supporters hope that he would have another chance to snap his losing streak. But because that wasn't the case, he will now be a free agent. Bellator could use his support when they do events in London, so it will be fascinating to see whether they make an effort to sign him.
