In partnership with iFixit, HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia handsets, has unveiled the Nokia G22, its first smartphone with an emphasis on repairability. The phone has a QuickFix design that enables users to quickly replace broken elements like the display, charging port, or battery by using repair manuals and reasonably priced replacement parts. Together with OZO Playback for improved bass and clearer sound, HMD Global also revealed that the Nokia G22 smartphone has a rear cover made completely of recycled plastic. The business promises to deliver two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates for the phone. The gadget now runs on the Android 12 operating system. Also, the business promises to give the phone two years of Android OS updates and three years of security patches. The Nokia G22 has a starting price of 179 euros and comes in two colour options: meteor grey and lagoon blue. For five euros, iFixit is selling smartphone home repair kits. The business, however, has not provided any information on the device's availability or launch date in India.

Nokia G22: Features

The Nokia G22 has a 6.52-inch HD+ screen with a resolution of 720x1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 installed for further protection, 500 nits of normal brightness, and more.

The Nokia G22, which supports two SIM cards, is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 processor along with 4GB of RAM. The gadget comes with two storage options—64 GB and 128 GB—and can be upgraded with a microSD card up to 2 TB.

The Nokia G22, which runs Android 12, has three cameras on the back: a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The gadget has an 8MP front-facing camera for taking selfies. The Nokia G22 sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is water- and dust-resistant thanks to its IP52 rating. A 5050mAh battery and 20W rapid charging are supported by the gadget.
