Today, on February 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Shivamogga Airport in Karnataka. Over 663 acres of land, the airport was constructed for a cost of Rs. 449.22 crore. The airport's passenger terminal building has a 300 passenger per hour capacity. According to a statement from the government, the airport would increase accessibility and connection in Shivamogga and other nearby villages in the Malnad region. The ninth domestic airport in Karnataka is this one. Domestic airports serving the state are currently found at Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ballari, Bidar, Hubballi, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, and Mangaluru.
