Smriti Mandhana of India was the highest purchase; she was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for an astounding INR 3.40 crore. The Mumbai Indians paid INR 1.80 crore to obtain Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and the other international and Domestic athletes qualified for one of the five franchises. Ashleigh Gardner of Australia and Natalie Sciver of England were the best purchases among the international players, going for a combined INR 3.20 crore to the Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians, respectively. Shafali Verma, the captain of the India U19 team and winner of the ICC U19 T20 World Cup, was the top purchase and was traded to the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crore. The Women's Premier League will host a total of 20 regular games and two playoff games over the course of 23 days in its inaugural season.
