In the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, the Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 176-175 in double overtime behind a career-high 45 points from Malik Monk and 42 points from De'Aaron Fox. On December 13, 1983, Detroit defeated Denver 186-184 in triple overtime to win the NBA game with the most points. With 176 points, the Kings are third on the scoring leaderboard, while the Clippers are fourth. With 1:57 left, the Clippers led 175-169 until the Kings scored the last seven points, including Fox's jumper with 36.5 seconds left. The Clippers had the last chance to score but failed. In the last second, Nico Batum missed a 3-point shot. The teams also made a total of 44 3-pointers, which tied for the most in a single NBA game. For Los Angeles, Kawhi Leonard scored a season-high 44 points, while Paul George added 34. After clearing waivers on Wednesday, Russell Westbrook began the game and made his Clippers debut. Before fouling out with 1:49 left in the second OT, he finished the game with 17 points, 14 assists, and five rebounds in 39 minutes.

With 4:25 left, Los Angeles led 145-131 before the Kings came back to force OT with a 22-8 surge. With 1.1 seconds left, Monk made a 3-pointer from the corner to force overtime. With 1:22 remaining in regulation, Sacramento scored 10 straight baskets to close the gap to 147-146. With 3:04 left in the first overtime, the Clippers led 162-156 until the Kings scored six straight baskets to tie it. With 20.4 seconds left, Monk made a pair of free throws to knot the score at 164. Leonard missed a shot at the buzzer that would have given Los Angeles the victory.

CLIPPERS

Throughout his ten-year career, Leonard has six games with 40 or more points, and this one is his second since joining the Clippers in the summer of 2019. In 46 minutes, he made 16 of his 22 field goal attempts, including six three-pointers. Leonard faced the Kings for the first game in two years. Due to a knee injury, he missed last season and the first two games of this one as well. Domantas Sabonis, a centre for Sacramento, played only 31 minutes after accruing fouls for the majority of the evening. He accrued his first four fouls in the first half, then with 6:46 left in the third quarter, he drew his fifth. Sabonis fouled out after recording his sixth triple-double in Thursday night's victory over Portland with 3:09 left in the first overtime, fouled out. He had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in the end.

The Kings are 6-4 in the second game of a back-to-back. 18 steals, a season best for Sacramento. 15 points were scored by Keegan Murray. Chimezie Metu's nine rebounds equaled a season best.

Clippers: On French Heritage Night, Batum scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Those entering the venue received a bobblehead of Batum sporting the French flag. From the bench, Norman Powell scored 24 points. Due to a right calf injury, Ivica Zubac was unable to participate.
