The two-day auction for the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has over. In advance of the league's seventh season, 942 players participated in the league's first-ever player auction. The auction was held at Chennai's Mahabalipuram city.Players were divided into four categories for the auction, with Category A consisting of Tamil Nadu players who have participated in international competitions (INR 10 lakh), Category B consisting of senior BCCI domestic match participants (INR 6 lakh), Category C consisting of players who are not in Categories A or B but have participated in more than 30 TNPL matches (INR 3 lakh), and Category D consisting of other players (INR 1.50 lakh). Each franchise had to submit a total offer of INR 70 lakh, and clubs could only keep a maximum of two players—one from category A or B and the other from category C or D—while maintaining a squad size of at least 16 and a maximum of 20.
