Bengaluru Open: India's Anirudh-Prashanth storm into in doubles final
Anirudh Chandrasekhar and N Vijay Sundar Prashanth of India continued their impressive play at the Dafa Bengaluru Open 2023 by defeating fourth-seeded Arjun Kadhe and Max Neuchrist 7-6 (1), 4-6, 10-2 on Friday at the KSLTA Stadium to advance to the doubles final. The only Indians now competing in the competition are Anirudh and Prashanth, as Sumit Nagal's elimination on Thursday put an end to the nation's singles campaign. The pair defeated the Indo-Austrian pair in a thrilling three-setter semi-final, and they will play in the final on Saturday. The fact that Medjedovic was able to create five breaks during the game demonstrated the level of his control. On Saturday, Medjedovic will compete against Max Purcell in the semifinals. Purcell, the reigning Wimbledon doubles champion, defeated Italian Luca Nardi 6-2, 6-0. The second-seeded James Duckworth of Australia, who was once rated No. 46 in the world, earlier defeated the Bulgarian Dimitar Kuzmanov by scores of 6-4, 6-1 to go to the Last-4. After overcoming Harold Mayot of France, another Aussie, James McCabe, made it to the semifinals 6-3, 7-6(4) in the preliminary.
