India under Harmanpreet Kaur will have a tough test against a strong England team in their third Group B encounter on Friday if they hope to advance to the Women's T20 World Cup's knockout rounds. A victory will essentially advance India into the knock-out round of the Women's T20 World Cup since they have two victories in as many games. Given that India's top order is failed to perform at its peak, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues have stepped up and made significant contributions in both games. The spotlight will be on Smriti Mandhana's performance, though, who missed the first game against Pakistan and performed poorly in the next game against the West Indies.
Below is a possible starting lineup for India's game versus England:
Smriti Mandhana: India's vice-captain made her playing XI debut in the team's victory against the West Indies earlier this week after sitting out the match against Pakistan. She was suspended for 10, though, and she'll be hoping for a better performance this time.
Shafali Verma: India's U19 T20 World Cup-winning skipper has only scored 33 and 28 runs thus far. She will be hoping to get India off to a strong start vs England.
Jemimah Rodrigues: After scoring an undefeated 53 against Pakistan, Jemimah struggled against the West Indies to match her feats. On Saturday, she will be the centre of attention against England.
Harmanpreet Kaur: Although having a strong performance during her 33-run knock against the West Indies, the Indian captain was unable to bat through to the conclusion. She would be excited to score a lot in the next games.
Richa Ghosh: Richa Ghosh has been India's best batswoman thus far, scoring 31 and 44 runs in two innings. In the upcoming bouts, she will want to maintain the momentum.
Devika Vaidya: The all-rounder let up 16 runs in only two overs while playing just one ball. She took Harleen Deol's position in the playing Eleven for the previous game. She will probably continue to play for the team, though.
Pooja Vastrakar: a 23-year-old bowling all-rounder, faced the West Indies and took one wicket while conceding 21 runs in four overs. In T20Is, she has a remarkable economy of 5.25.
Deepti Sharma: After a lacklustre performance in the first game against Pakistan, Deepti came back strongly with a score of 3/15 in the previous game. For her efforts, she received the "Player of the Match" award.
Radha Yadav: Radha bowled just one over and allowed eight runs after recording stats of 2 for 21 against Pakistan. She'll probably continue to play for the team.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad: 31, has failed to claim a wicket and has allowed 61 runs in each game. The management will probably support her for one more game, though.
Renuka Singh: Against the West Indies, the right-arm bowler, known for her swing bowling, had scores of 1/22. In the following game, she will try to enhance her number of wickets.
