The CEO of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, has resigned, according to a statement released on Thursday by Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. Wojcicki stated that she wants to spend more time working on her personal projects, family, and health. Neal Mohan, an Indian-American, will succeed Wojcicki as firm CEO. Wohcicki said in a blog post that she will now devote her time to "focusing on my family, health, and personal initiatives I'm passionate about." Wojcicki reaffirmed that she would hold onto the post during the transition process and would join Google and Alphabet in an advising capacity. She has been in charge of the social media platforms for nine years, and throughout that time they have experienced significant development. Wojcicki made it a point to increase advertising' access to YouTube.while overseeing the video producers that supplied the website hosting videos. Because to her efforts, YouTube rose to prominence inside Google and produced $29.2 billion in ad revenues in 2022, accounting for more than 10% of the company's overall income. Before taking over as CEO of YouTube in 2014, she was Google's senior vice president for ad products. Wojcicki, one of Google's first hires, has worked with the business for almost 25 years.Wojcicki's resignation had symbolic value because she was one of the few women in prominent roles at technology corporations.Page and Brin stated in a statement that Susan "holds a unique position in Google history and has made the most remarkable contribution to products used by people everywhere." "We're very appreciative of everything she's done for us over the past 25 years." After Wojcicki, Neal Mohan, who now holds the title of Chief Product Officer (CPO) at YouTube, will become the company's CEO. As CPO, Mohan was in charge of the user experience on all platforms and the products on YouTube.
