4.9 Million Fabuloso Bottles Have Been Recalled Due To The Risk Of Bacteria

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of several Fabuloso cleaning products on Wednesday due to a potential bacterial contamination. No incidents or injuries had been recorded as of the recall. The maker of the well-known brand, the Colgate-Palmolive Company, recalled around 4.9 million bottles in the United States and about 56,000 in Canada. 3.9 million of those bottles, according to Fabuloso, were never made available for purchase.

Several variations of the Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner that were manufactured between December 14 and January 23 and sold online, including on Amazon, as well as through well-known merchants like Dollar General and Walmart, are included in the recall.

Customers should cease using the affected products right away. You can determine which products are affected by looking up the codes in the recall statement.

According to the safety commission, users should keep the product in its container and discard it in the trash. Before throwing away the bottle, they shouldn't empty it.

A preservative "was not added at the necessary amounts during manufacturing," according to Colgate-Palmolive, which might have given Pseudomonas bacteria a chance to flourish.

According to the safety commission, the bacteria is typically prevalent in soil and water and could result in serious infections in those with compromised immune systems, those who use external medical equipment, or those who have underlying lung diseases.

Consumers can request refunds or replacements from Colgate-Palmolive by sending a photo of the product's UPC and lot codes.
