WWE legend Jerry Lawler of Memphis was hospitalised

Former chief meteorologist for WMC-TV and native of Memphis, Jerry "The King" Lawler, was admitted to a Florida hospital on Monday after having a stroke, according to Lawler's longtime friend Dave Brown. Lawler is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. According to Brown, who spoke to The Commercial Appeal, the renowned professional wrestler is recovering from a stroke in a hospital in Fort Myers. According to Brown, Lawler planned to spend this week at the property he owns in Fort Myers after travelling to Florida last week for the Old Time Comic Show's "Heroes Meet Horror Con" on February 4 in Punta Gorda.

Brown claimed he had a FaceTime conversation with Lawler, 73, early on Tuesday afternoon and left feeling quite upbeat.

I feel lot better than I did 18 hours ago, when I felt like I got hit in the face with a shovel, he added. "Some of the initial reports were really horrific." "After I conducted a FaceTime, I felt tremendously inspired. Jerry was on guard. He spoke with me. He could only speak in short bursts, which is rather typical. However, e o was able to move both of his arms and legs.

I am really hopeful that he will finally make a full recovery.

When Lawler and Lance Russell announced the enduring Saturday morning "Classic Memphis Wrestling," Brown and Lawler became friends.

Just over ten years have passed since Lawler experienced a heart collapse on live television while commentating on an edition of "Monday Night Raw," the WWE's venerable weekly television programme.

Lawler has recently made multiple appearances for WWE and was officially inducted into the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame in October 2022. His hometown's FedExForum hosted "Friday Night Smackdown" on January 6. Before the Fox broadcast of the show began, Lawler made a brief cameo. The annual Royal Rumble kickoff show featured Lawler on a panel, and he later offered guest commentary during one of the matches.

Professional wrestlers of note posted messages of support for Lawler on social media on Tuesday in an effort to show their concern. They included Ric Flair, who tweeted, "We are praying for you, Jerry Lawler."
