At Delhi University's convocation, when more than 1.5 lakh students will get their degrees, President Droupadi Murmu will be the special guest, a varsity official announced. An official announcement states that the 99th convocation of the university will take place on February 25. According to the Dean of Examination DS Rawat, this year will see the most PhD degrees issued. At the convocation, where 1,57426 students will be awarded degrees, President Droupadi Murmu will be the special guest, he stated. DS Rawat remarked, "Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the guest of honour. The university will confer 81,972 degrees in the fields of law, medicine, and undergraduate and graduate studies. 75,454 more School of Open Learning graduate and postgraduate students will also graduate with degrees."PhD students will receive more than 840 degrees. The highest number to date is this one. The number will continue to increase. DS Rawat stated, "We awarded 802 degrees last year." According to the announcement, the convocation ceremony will start at 9.30 a.m. at the Multipurpose Hall of the Delhi University Sports Stadium Complex. A senior varsity administrator had earlier stated that the occasion would be unusual since students will be dressed in Indian garb with "angvastras" (stoles) rather than the "ancient colonial robes."
