Nottingham Forest defeated Leeds United 1- 0

Nottingham Forest defeated Leeds United In this Premier League match, Jesse Mars' team travelled to the East Midlands to face Nottingham Forest, but they left empty-handed as Brennan Johnson's first-half goal proved to be the game's lone score. In the first half of the game, Leeds had the greatest chance, which Luis Sinisterra well created. The winger broke into the area and created a chance, but Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas saved the day with a left-footed save. The hosts quickly seized the lead with their first significant offensive move of the game. Johnson received the ball from an inswinging free kick and ran to the perimeter before unleashing a strong first-time volley into the lower corner.Prior to the goal, Leeds had been in complete control of the game and kept up that dominance for the duration of the rest of the half, pressing forward and creating opportunities.Sinisterra once more had the next significant shot opportunity. Willy Gnonto had been active down the wing, and his low cross into the middle was ideal for the winger to run onto. However, he was unable to control the effort, and it sailed over the crossbar.Gnonto was once more causing issues as he made another strong opening as the team continued to search for an equaliser. Luke Ayling received the ball at the back post this time, and Navas again made a strong stop on his well-struck left-footed attempt. However, as the game's end drew near, Leeds would keep winning. He made a good save to block Gnonto's low shot shortly after saving Ayling's headed cut back across goal.

Nottingham Forest leads Leeds United 1-0 at the break.

  • Danilo was replaced by Steve Cooper at halftime, while Jack Colback and Serge Aurier followed him after receiving a yellow card for a late tackle on Pascal Struijk. Orel Mangala was switched out for Serge Aurier.
  • Marsch moved to his bench to make changes at the City Ground after there were no genuine chances at either end for the opening 10 or so minutes of the second half.
  • Marc Roca was replaced by Weston McKennie, who made his Leeds United debut. Along with the new addition, we witnessed Crysencio Summerville's comeback from an injury as he took the position of Sinisterra.
  • There was no change in the score with around 25 minutes left, although there were further adjustments made on the bench. Patrick Bamford, making his Premier League debut, took the place of Georginio Rutter, while Struijk was replaced by Junior Firpo.
  • Leeds was given one last opportunity in a half that had not seen many. Sam Greenwood, the Whites' sixth substitution, crossed the ball in from a free kick, and Summerville picked it up outside the area, but his shot went over the crossbar.
  • At the City Ground, that would be it. Shortly after, the final whistle sounded, awarding the hosts all three points.
