Kyrie Irving, requests trade from Nets before deadline

Kyrie Irving is searching for a new location since he can't secure a new deal.  The Athletic report that the All-Star guard has asked the Brooklyn Nets for a trade. According to Friday's media sources, Irving made the request after contract discussions failed. His time with the team may be coming to an end with this request, which comes less than a week before the trade deadline or after this season. Although Irving is eligible for one, the Nets passed on offering him one last summer. Shetellia Irving, Irving's agent and stepmother, revealed to Bleacher Report last week that she had contacted the Nets about a new contract. After this, Kyrie Irving's contract with the Nets will end.is qualified for a four-year deal of up to $200 million after this season. Shetellia Irving told Bleacher Report, "I've spoken to the Nets about this. "To yet, we haven't had any important chats. With the appropriate kind of extension, the aim is to make Brooklyn home, so the Nets must now convey whether their desire is the same. When Kevin Durant signed a long-term contract deal in 2021, it was believed that Irving and the Nets were close to doing the same. Instead, Irving showed he was dependable by skipping games for reasons unrelated to basketball, and the Nets decided against signing the point guard for the foreseeable future. The Nets, who just lost by 43 points to Boston, start a five-game homestand against Washington on Wednesday. Irving is available to play because his name isn't on their injury report. Prior to the All-Star break, they play six of their last seven games at home; the one game they play away from home is against the New York Knicks.

Brooklyn ranks fourth in the Eastern Conference rankings with a 31-20 record this season. Since fellow All-Star Kevin Durant injured his knee in a game against Miami on January 8, the Nets have gone 4-7. Given that he has already stated his desire to compete in the All-Star Game on February 19th, Durant may join the Nets during this homestand. Durant also requested a trade from the Nets last summer, but sanity won out. In a transaction that brought Ben Simmons to Brooklyn, Brooklyn moved James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers around this time last year. Harden was a member of the Big Three that the Nets believed would consist of him, Durant, and Irving.Whatever transpires between now and Thursday, this is the beginning of a brand-new chapter in the narrative involving Irving, who this season is averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. The Nets upset by his repeated refusal to "unequivocally affirm he has no antisemitic ideas," they punished him for a total of eight games earlier this season. That happened soon after Irving declined to express regret for tweeting an anti-Semitic piece, as demanded by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. As a result of what he tweeted and the responses that ensued, Irving also ended up losing his long-standing connection with Nike. "I don't support anything like to On the day the Nets brought him back in November, Irving declared, "I will not tolerate hate speech, antisemitism, or anything that is against the human race.

As a result of his reluctance to receive the COVID-19 vaccination in 2021–22, Irving also missed a large portion of Brooklyn's home games for the majority of the season due to New York City regulations put in place in reaction to the pandemic. Throughout his career, he has also voiced a number of contentious viewpoints, like frequently doubting whether the Earth was spherical until ultimately apologising to scientific instructors. Additionally, Irving took a leave of absence for the 2021 season, and general manager Sean Marks stated this past summer that the organisation will take Irving's availability into account when deciding whether to extend his contract.
