According to NFL Network sources, Sean Payton will become the head coach of the Denver Broncos after both parties reached a financial agreement with the 59-year-previous old's team, the New Orleans Saints. Despite leaving the Saints after the 2017 season, Payton was still bound by his contract this year and was working as a broadcaster. He spent 15 years with the team, leading the Saints to nine playoff appearances and one Super Bowl victory in 2010. Payton told NOLA.com, "This was the chance I was searching for." It has a loyal following and a rich history. "I liked the way they competed in several of their games last year," said the owner group. He joins a Broncos squad that is in dire need of improvement. Denver completed the season 5-12, extending its seven-season absence from the postseason. The performance of quarterback Russell Wilson, who the Denver Broncos acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for four first-round draught selections before to this season, was perhaps the most disappointing. The nine-time Pro Bowler, who led an offence that averaged 16.9 points per game and finished the season with a career low of 16 touchdown passes, had the worst statistical year of his career. Payton is certain, though, that she can make the most of Wilson. Payton told NOLA.com that Russell "works hard, has played at a high level, and has won a lot of games in this league." The onus is on us to put up a strong running game and decrease the difficulty level of his job. I'm enthusiastic about him. DeMeco Ryans, 38, a former linebacker for the Houston Texans and current defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, was named the next head coach of the NFL franchise on Tuesday. The former linebacker with the Texans enters the position after a successful stint as the 49ers' defensive coordinator. San Francisco's defence finished first in the 2022 regular season in overall defence (300.6 yards/game), total points allowed (277), and points allowed per game (16.3) under his direction as coordinator the previous two seasons. The 49ers defence was third in the league in 2021 with 310.0 total yards allowed per game. After finishing 3-13-1 in 2022, Houston sacked previous head coach Lovie Smith in early January.Smith was the second coach to lead the team for only one season. After a 3-14 season the previous year, the Texans dismissed David Culley and then hired Smith. Following the hiring of former Colts head coach Frank Reich, the Carolina Panthers also announced their new coach on Tuesday. In the Panthers' inaugural contest in 1995, Reich, now 61, started as quarterback. He is now the team's sixth head coach.
