An urgent hazardous health alert has been issued as a result of the loss of a small radioactive capsule between a mine in Western Australia's Pilbara area and Perth. The silver, spherical, 6-by-8-millimeter capsule, which was lost between January 10 and January 16, was being transferred between the mine northeast of Newman and north east Perth.Even though it cannot be used as a weapon, WA Health has issued a warning that it may result in serious health issues. The chief health officer, Dr. Andrew Robertson, advised people to avoid the pill or anything that like it since exposure to it might result in radiation burns or serious disease."If you have contacted or come in contact with the material If you suspect that you may have been exposed to radioactive material for an extended period of time, call your local doctor or go to the emergency room of a hospital and let them know. "If you are very close to the material or touching it, the radiation risk increases immensely and could cause serious damage to your health, including causing radiation burns to the skin."More than a week after it was really lost, the item was reported missing to police on January 25. As a result, the state's emergency department is now searching for it.The precise route and stops taken during the trip from north of Newman are being confirmed by a multi-agency Incident Management Team made up of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), Department of Health, WA Police, and other subject matter experts "DFES's David Gill said. The mining site north of Newman and the transport terminal in Perth's northeastern suburbs, which serve as the beginning and end of the transit route, were among the places searched yesterday and today. In the search region, we are also scouring highways and other places."
