Nationl wide bank strike announced on Jan 30, 31
The United Forum of Bank Unions has cancelled the planned January 30 and 31 countrywide bank strike, according to Thiruvananthapuram. The choice was made following a meeting between the forum and the Deputy Chief Labor Commissioner. The strike was launched in an effort to lobby for a number of goals, including five-day banking, upgrading pensions, and hiring more staff in all branches to improve customer service and address outstanding concerns. The State Bank of India had already warned its clients that the strike may impact services at its branches. After the Indian Banks' Association failed to respond to the United Forum of Banks' requests during a meeting on Thursday, the group made the decision to go on strike.Nine unions make to the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE), All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA), Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), Indian National Bank Employees Congress (INBEC), Indian National Bank Officers Congress (INBOC), National Organization of Bank Workers (NOBW), and National Organization of Bank Officers are the organisations that make up the UFBU (NOBO).
