Bengals vs. Bills: Where to Watch (TV Channel, Time) :Josh Allen and Joe Burrow are the stars of this AFC playoff matchup. The Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals were scheduled to play each other in one of the season's biggest games only a few weeks ago. The Bengals, on the other hand, defeated the Chiefs in the AFC championship game and went on to represent the league in the Super Bowl. The winner of the Chiefs vs. Jaguars game will now meet the winner of the Bills or Bengals in the conference championship game the following week. When the Bengals have the ball:

Injuries have wreaked havoc on the Cincinnati offensive line over the past several weeks. La'el Collins, a right tackle, will miss the whole season due to an ACL tear. Alex Cappa, the right guard, is still out this Sunday due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 18. Jonah Williams, the left tackle, missed last week's game against the Ravens due to a knee injury. This indicates that Cordell Volson, a rookie guard for Ted Karra, will start with Hakeem Adeniji, Max Scharping, and Jackson Carman for the Bengals.Even if Von Miller stays out, it is not a favourable position to be in when facing one of the top defensive fronts in the NFL.In addition to Tim Settle, Boogie Basham, A.J. Epenesa, Shaq Lawson, Ed Oliver, and Boogie Basham, the Bills can also use Greg Rousseau, Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips, DaQuan Jones, and maybe both of them. According to TruMedia, Buffalo's pressure rate fell from 35.3% while Miller was healthy to just 30.3% without him, but last week against the Dolphins, the Bills increased that percentage to 39.2%.Joe Burrow, much as he did for the majority of the regular season, can mitigate pressure to some level by getting the ball out quickly. His season-long average throw time was under 2.55 seconds, placing him second in the NFL only to Tom Brady. Burrow, meanwhile, threw downfield far fewer frequently this season.

This season, Cincinnati had some success trading downfield explosiveness for quickness and putting the ball in the hands of playmakers. This was especially true when Burrow was able to put the ball in the hands of Ja'Marr Chase, who is seldom brought down by the first defender. The Bills can use their incredible team speed to fly to the ball and minimise yards after the catch because Buffalo's defence is built to dare opponents to check it down in just that way. In contrast, Tee Higgins is one of the NFL's finest contested catchers, able to win at the point of reception by using his body and wingspan to deter opposing defensive backs from tackling him. Chase is superior to practically everyone in the league at producing them.Buffalo usually only rushes four defenders and plays zone defence, but after seeing how successfully the Ravens were able to throw the Bengals off their game with simulated pressures and exotic looks behind them, it wouldn't be surprising to see Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier throw a little bit of a changeup this week. The Bills have the agility and physicality to alter the field for Burrow after the ball is snapped while maintaining their favoured zone coverages. They can do this in Cover-2, Cover-3, man across the board, quarters, or another formation. The easiest approach to make Burrow pause and give the other team a chance is to prevent him from knowing before the snap what he will see once he drops back to pass.

Burrow can create plays outside the parameters of the system, and he also has a lot of faith in Tyler Boyd, Chase, and Higgins to make plays with the ball if he can just get rid of it quickly enough to stop the rush before it has a chance to land. Those players can definitely justify Burrow's trust, but it won't be easy against Buffalo's secondary. It appears extremely doubtful that the Bengals will be able to control this game on the ground given their offensive line problems. Even when the line was totally healthy, their running game did not particularly succeed, and Buffalo has one of the NFL's top run defences. Burrow should be trusted with the game, and the Bengals would be better off doing so.With the help of his sharp head, fast reflexes, and excellent perimeter weaponry, he defeated the Bills.

The moment the Bills possess the ball

The Buffalo offence was barely visible for one drive during the previous match between these two clubs. As a result, a lot of what we said in the matchup preview for that game still holds true:Since Josh Allen changed into, well, this version of Josh Allen, the Bills and Bengals have not played one another. In 2019, while Allen was still early in his second NFL season, these two teams last squared off. Due to my lack of knowledge, I'm interested to see what kind of game plan Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo develops to deal with the particular threat Allen presents to a defence. It would be intriguing to watch whether the way Anarumo tackles Allen is at anyway comparable to how he worked things against Patrick Mahomes - the only other quarterback in Allen's stratosphere as a multifaceted player - and, if not, how the game plan itself will change. Despite being constructed around equally talented quarterbacks, the Buffalo and Kansas City offences are not all that comparable.

However, it would not be unexpected in the slightest if Anarumo took at least some elements of the Kansas City game plan for this battle. In particular, it looks like a solid strategy to fight what Buffalo loves to do to drop as many defenders as possible into coverage and rush only three or four. Layering the middle of the field with several defenders might help capitalise on Allen's recent inaccuracy by placing guys for picks on overthrown balls. This could gum up the Bills' long crossing passes. Additionally, it would enable the Bengals to line up several covering players in front of Stefon Diggs, forcing Allen to outrun them with his secondary and third-down targets. It sounds like a decent plan, especially in light of the secondary's youth and injuries.Last week against the Dolphins, the Bills received strong performances from their secondary targets, including Gabe Davis, who caught six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, Dawson Knox, who caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown, and Cole Beasley and Khalil Shakir, who together caught five passes for 86 yards and another touchdown. After the first quarter, Diggs was incredibly silent despite having seven catches for 114 yards.

I have a feeling that the Bengals will be pleased with themselves if they can force the Bills to win in the same way they did last week, with Diggs remaining quiet for the majority of the game and the other players doing the majority of the damage the rest of the way. Whether they can carry it through is the question.scheme in light of their relative cornerback vulnerability. If Allen matches up Diggs or even Davis one-on-one with Eli Apple or Cam Taylor-Britt (or Dax Hill, who committed three penalties last week), he should be expected to take his chances. If and when he does, the Bengals must unquestionably take advantage of it by forcing turnovers on his inaccurate or rash throws. In the latter part of this season, Allen has been all too ready to push things, and we just witnessed last week how his propensity to do so can keep any opponent in the game with Buffalo for longer than expected. (And considering the calibre of the Bengals, they are not just any opponent.)

It's important to provide pressure to him while also keeping him from sprinting after the ball and down the field. It's a challenging balance to achieve, but Buffalo's poor offensive line makes it conceivable, especially in light of Cincinnati's potent pass-rush duo of Sam Hubbard and Trendrickson. The Bengals would benefit more if they could provide pressure to the Bills' right side of the line, forcing Allen to scramble left rather than right (he throws much better when moving toward his strong side). The Bills often reserve Allen's designed runs for the most important games, so it's likely that we may see a lot of them here so they can alter the math right away. Cincinnati is quite challenging. The Bills often reserve Allen's designed runs for the most important games, so it's likely that we may see a lot of them here so they can alter the math right away. Even though the Bills have recently been more successful running it with Devin Singletary and James Cook, it might be a good idea to throw a little something different at the Bengals in the hopes of finding a little bit more success than might otherwise be possible on the ground. Cincinnati is extremely difficult to run on when D.J. Reader is on the field.

Prediction: Bengals 23, Bills 26 prediction.
