According to a government representative, the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission are being integrated by the National Health Authority (NHA) (ABDM).The CGHS and Ayushman Bharat will be combined by the government. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, added that the goal was to "create digital health identification of CGHS recipients and save their digital health data, providing fast care to the needy."About 100 million health records have been connected to ABDM thus far. With the intention of providing comprehensive healthcare to central government personnel, pensioners, and their dependant family members, CGHS was established in 1954. More than 4.1 million people are now served by the programme throughout 75 locations."In CGHS, we are preparing a number of novel interventions. The CGHS is now being included into the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission. The digital connection of all health information will be documented, and beneficiaries' CGHS numbers and ABHA numbers will be mapped. The official stated, "The procedure will be simpler here because there are less beneficiaries and they are literate enough to grasp the process.

Using their 14-digit Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number, people may view and manage their medical data online. Citizens electronically share pertinent health records with healthcare professionals who are enrolled with the ABDM, creating a full medical history across all healthcare providers. The health ministry stated in a public statement earlier this month that "CGHS has found it vital to integrate new technologies and innovations in the delivery of excellent healthcare." In this context, the CGHS has already finished the ABDM platform onboarding procedure.According to the statement, beneficiaries who have their beneficiary IDs linked to Aadhar-based ABHA numbers will soon be able to utilise all services through CGHS wellness centres as well. The NHA, the ABDM's implementing agency, had previously said in July 2022 that it would be integrating digital health apps to grow its digital health ecosystem. In order to smoothly provide healthcare services to qualified beneficiaries starting in 2021, the health ministry moved the CGHS into the NHA's IT infrastructure.
