Work on Joshimath's relief infrastructure was restarted as the weather improved. Joshimath's first snowfall of the season, followed by rain, has raised concerns about escalating soil subsidence in the town on Friday. Following an improvement in the weather on Saturday, the Chamoli district government recommenced the demolition of two severely damaged hotels and two dwellings in Manohar Bagh in the town of Joshimath, Uttarakhand. According to officials, relief efforts and a survey to evaluate structural damage have also resumed without incident. Joshimath's first snowfall of the season, followed by rain, had raised concerns about escalating land subsidence in the town on Friday, despite the fact that the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, reviewed the situation and instructed staff to make all necessary preparations to help the displaced residents deal with the cold. District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana Chamoli said that after a day of clear weather, the demolition of two damaged hotels and two damaged homes in Manohar Bagh began. Regarding claims of damage to the Badrinath highway, he stated that according to the Central Building Research Institute, a little crack developed on the highway as a result of road settling, but it wasn't a reason for alarm. After the holy town in Chamoli district abruptly sank during the first week of January, at least 863 structures in the hill town sustained cracking, and 921 people were displaced and relocated to temporary relief camps. The DM said that more dangerous homes will begin to be demolished based on research from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI). Weather in India Metrological Department (IMD)’s  "Heavy rain/snowfall expected to occur in a few sites in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts and at isolated areas in Dehradun, Tehri, Rudraprayag, and Bageshwar districts of Uttarakhand," according to an orange notice from the Department's Dehradun centre for January 24 and 25. The Chamoli district government issued orders on January 18 to demolish two residential houses in Manohar Bagh ward and on January 19 to demolish one residential property in Sunil ward, after the start of the destruction of two precariously standing hotels last week. On Thursday, demolition work for two homes in Monohar Bagh got under way.
