Free Ride On Delhi Metro For Holder Of E-tickets And Republic Day Parade

Republic Day parade invitees and e-ticket holders are given free rides on the Delhi Metro. On January 26, invited guests to the 74th Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path and anyone with digital tickets for seats there will be able to take advantage of a "free metro trip" to the two stations close to Raisina Hill, according to authorities.

This information was presented on Wednesday by representatives from the defence ministry during a presentation on the activities that would take place from January 23–31 as part of the Republic Day celebrations. "Invitees and ticket holders with valid invitation cards, admit cards, or tickets, as well as a government-issued photo ID, will be allowed to use the metro services without charge and will exit at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations to reach their designated enclosures as decided," it stated.

Republic Day e-tickets purchased online "shall include a QR code," a senior official subsequently told PTI, adding these tickets may be presented at metro stations to "receive a token for a free travel to the stations close the event."

The Kartavya Path is close to the metro stations at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat.

Metro services will be operating on January 26. This information was revealed during the power point presentation on one of the slides.

While Central Secretariat Station serves as an interchange between the Yellow Line and the Violet Line, Udyog Bhawan Station is located on the Yellow Line.

When approached, a senior DMRC official said, "We are awaiting orders."

After Rajpath was renamed "Kartavya Path" last year, this will be the first Republic Day festivities held along the ceremonial boulevard.

This year's Republic Day events will be held on the newly renovated Central Vista Avenue, and the government has made 32,000 tickets available for general public purchase online.All formal invitations to the ceremonial event will be given out online for the first time, they announced.

E-invitations have taken the place of paper invitation cards for attendees and onlookers this year. Amantran.mod.gov.in, a special website, has been established with this objective in mind. The defence ministry announced on Wednesday that "tickets, admission cards, invitation cards, and automobile parking labels are being issued electronically using this platform."

This will make the entire procedure more safe and paperless and make it possible for citizens from all around the nation to attend this national event.
