Geovanis Uwase suspended from bowling in International Cricket

Uwase can no longer bowl for Japan in international cricket. Geovanis Uwase of Rwanda has been immediately barred from bowling in international cricket competitions after the ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup Event Panel determined that she utilises an improper bowling motion.

Members of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists make up the event panel.

Uwase was reported by the match officials during Rwanda's play against Pakistan on January 15, and video was taken and provided with the Event Panel for review during their match against Zimbabwe on January 17.

The evaluation was conducted in compliance with ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations articles 3.5 and 4.7. Uwase is immediately barred from bowling in international cricket as a result of the Event Panel's determination that she used an improper bowling action.

The ban will last until she submits to another evaluation of her bowling technique that demonstrates that she can bowl without utilising an unlawful bowling technique.
