Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, took part in the "Shaurya Sandhya" celebration of the 75th Army Day on Sunday in Bengaluru.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen BS Raju, other senior military personnel, families of gallantry awardees, well-known athletes, notable citizens, members of paramilitary forces, police forces, and others attended the ceremony.

Happy Army Day, which falls on the day when General (later Field Marshal) KM Cariappa officially took over command of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief, in 1949, marking the occasion, was the subject of Rajnath Singh's opening remarks during his inaugural address.

Rajnath Singh also praised Field Marshal KM Cariappa, adding that the Karnataka-born leader of India's first independent military contributed significantly to fortifying the Indian Army. He also lavishly honoured a number of state revolutionaries who gave their lives to ensure the nation's independence from foreign dominion.

Since the country's independence, the Armed Forces have maintained its territorial integrity, and Singh praised them for their unflinching resolve in the face of adversity.

The difficulties at the western and northern frontiers were among those that our soldiers overcame. He praised them for their "unparalleled courage, devotion, and sacrifice" in upholding the nation's great legacy.

The defence minister remembered the armed forces' valour in the recent occurrences in Galwan and Tawang as well as the battles in 1962, 1965, 1971, and 1999.

He said that the troops' "courage and bravery have not only raised India's prestige around the world but have also increased trust in the hearts of all Indians."

The Armed Forces have been a dependable partner in managing humanitarian aid and disaster relief (HADR) for both India and friendly nations, he noted, adding that the three wings of the Services have occasionally carried out their duty with efficiency.

India, according to Singh, is renowned for having a powerful military. "The Indian Armed Forces have always been one of the strongest and most trustworthy pillars of the country, be it via valour, devotion, and discipline, or its participation in HADR," he remarked. Rajnath Singh asserts that the Indian military's greatest asset is its capacity to change and reinvent itself in reaction to the times."Every area of life has seen tremendous change throughout the years, from politics to economics to society,"

That transformation has been accompanied by security issues. They not only change with time, but their rate of change is also accelerating quickly. Today, artificial intelligence-powered weaponry, drones, and underwater drones are in use. The modern period is one with improved technology. He said, "Recent technical developments have made these difficulties more difficult.
