PREVIEW

Real Madrid and Barcelona won their semifinal matches on penalties after defeating Valencia and Real Betis, respectively.

If Carlo Ancelotti's team triumphs, it will be their second championship of the year after defeating Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup final. Additionally, it may match Barcelona's record of 13 Spanish Super Cup victories.

Barcelona under Xavi Hernández is under increased pressure to return the Super Cup to Spain. Since winning the Copa del Rey in 2021 under previous coach Ronald Koeman, it would be its first championship. Lionel Messi won his 35th and last championship with Barcelona before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain.

As a coach, Xavi is still developing his reputation. The team hasn't yet displayed the talent that the club mortgaged its future for in order to improve with Robert Lewandowski and other players last summer.

Coach Xavi has a record of one victory and two losses in the clasicos against Madrid, including a 3-2 loss in the Spanish Super Cup semifinals from previous season.

Real Madrid's predicted starting lineup is as follows: Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Mendy, Kroos, Valverde, Modric, Rodrygo, Vinicius, and Benzema.Pedri, Dembélé, Ter Stegen, Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde, De Jong, Busquets, Lewandowski, Fati, and others from Barcelona
