112 foot tall Adi Yogi statue in Kataka to be inaugurated tomorrow

The dedication of K'taka's 112-foot-tall Adi Yogi monument will take place tomorrow

A duplicate of a well-known statue at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore will be the Adi Yogi statue in Chikkaballapura.

The 112-foot-tall Adi Yogi monument will be unveiled on Sunday at Sadhguru Sannidhi in Chikkaballapura, Karnataka, by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. At the inauguration ceremony, Vice President Dhankhar will be joined by Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. A duplicate of a well-known statue at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore will be the Adi Yogi statue in Chikkaballapura.

The Isha Foundation declared in a statement, "According to plan, on January 15 at 6 p.m., the Honorable Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, would unveil Adiyogi, a duplicate of the original installation of Adiyogi in Coimbatore. Both Chief Minister Shri Basavaraj Bommai and Governor Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot of Karnataka will be present. The unveiling of the monument is expected to draw thousands of participants, and the Isha Foundation has also scheduled a 14-minute light and sound spectacle, the "Divya Darshanam," for the night before Makar Sankranti.

The Karnataka High Court, in the meantime, ordered the status quo regarding the site's construction works on Friday while allowing the Isha Foundation to perform the inauguration event."

Isha can proceed with its scheduled event of the Adiyogi Unveiling in Chikkaballapura on January 15, 2023, as planned, a division bench of the Karnataka High Court ruled on Friday. The court emphasised that no trees should be chopped down for the occasion since building operations cannot proceed.
