Juventus vs. Napoli highlights Juventus vs. Napoli: Leaders On Friday, Napoli spectacularly ended Juventus' eight-game Serie A winning streak, handed...  humiliated Massimiliano Allegri's team 5-1 to end Juventus' eight-game Serie A winning streak, defeating them in the top-of-the-table matchup.

With 47 points from 18 games, Napoli widened their lead at the top of the rankings by 10 points. Despite dropping to third place, Juventus and second-placed AC Milan, who still have a game remaining, are tied on 37 points.

Luciano Spalletti, the Napoli coach, told DAZN that his squad "played a wonderful game and kept the pace high." "It was a lovely evening, made much more so by the large audience." Although the Neapolitans are usually on our side, this team was able to revive their affection for these colours.

A close-range bicycle kick by Juventus winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was saved by Napoli goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in the 14th minute, but he was unable to stop Victor Osimhen's subsequent header. Soon after, Juventus had a golden chance to get one back, but Angel Di Maria's incredible solo effort from outside the box hit the bar.

Five minutes later, Juve striker Arkadiusz Milik attempted to beat Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret with a header, but his attempt was unsuccessful. Instead, Osimhen sent Kvaratskhelia with the perfect cross into an open area, where the Georgian added the finishing touch and doubled Napoli's advantage in the 39th minute.

Three minutes later, Di Maria gave Juventus a chance to retake the lead when he made it 2-1 with a low shot into the left corner, leaving Meret unable to save it. Ten minutes into the second half, Napoli's defender Amir Rrahmani scored with a strong first-touch finish from a corner to give his team a two-goal advantage.

A few minutes later, Osimhen had a close-range opportunity to make it 4-1, but his strike just cleared the crossbar. But in the 65th minute, the striker managed to get back on the scoresheet with his second header of the game and 12th Serie A goal of the year. Napoli's victory was secured in the 72nd minute by substitute Eljif Elmas.

After his 450th match as manager in Serie A, Allegri commented, "We went into the game with less intensity. This was a merited defeat." The circumstances we acknowledged were also quite simple to read and foresee, although luck can work in your favour or against you. At halftime, we made every effort to change the outcome, but Naples deserved to win.

Juventus gave up five goals in a Serie A game for the first time in over 20 years. When they lost 5-1 at Pescara in May 1993, it was the last time they suffered such a thrashing. In their past three league games against Juventus, Napoli, who are going for their first Serie A championship since 1990, are presently undefeated. The following round of games will see Juve hosting sixth-placed Atalanta on Jan. 22 and Napoli visiting Salernitana on Jan. 21.
