NEP 2020 wants to make India global study destination

According to Dharmendra Pradhan, NEP 2020 intends to promote India as a "destination for worldwide study".

According to Pradhan, India has always supported international programmes that address the needs and issues of developing nations.
According to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday, India hopes to foster strong institutional relationships with its partner nations through new rules allowing prestigious international institutions to open campuses there.

At the Voice of Youth Global South Summit, Pradhan said that India has always backed international efforts that represent the interests and concerns of developing nations."This summit will serve as a venue to produce ideas and provide voice to the global south at the G20 conference, since India has acquired the G20 leadership,"

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, according to the education minister, aims to make India a "global study destination" and offer top-quality instruction at a reasonable price.

To enable universities to form joint, dual, and twinning partnerships with overseas higher education institutions, we have developed laws. A number of our elite universities, including the IITs, are now opening offshore campuses abroad. Additionally, we just released a draught legislation permitting renowned overseas organisations to establish campuses in India. Through this, we want to encourage strong institutional ties with our partner nations.

The UGC published a draught directive on January 5 that will assist prestigious international higher education institutions in opening campuses in India. The regulations are made available to the public in order to get input from interested parties.

As in the G20 education working group, India will discuss issues pertaining to basic literacy and numeracy, increasing inclusivity in tech-enabled learning, lifelong learning in the context of the future, and strategies to boost research and innovation in higher education institutions, according to Pradhan.

"We firmly feel that the opinions and viewpoints of several nations outside the G20 should be particularly taken into account in the conversation and results across various verticals." The education minister stated, "We're looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from best practises in your various nations on human resource development, capacity building, a workforce prepared for the future, digital public goods in education, and skilling and vocational education.

He said, "As our prime minister stated, we shall identify shared answers to similar difficulties affecting our various countries, particularly human capacity building, as countries of the global south.Pradhan emphasised the education changes India has been experiencing at the school and higher education levels as a part of the execution of NEP 2020 when he stated that education is essential for realising full human potential.

"Our educational system is the largest and most varied in the world," To fully use the benefits of our demographic dividend, we need to have a population that is more than 50% under the age of 30. "We are putting into practise an aspirational national education strategy 2020, which has introduced significant changes to our educational environment," he added.According to Pradhan, "colonialism" has harmed the educational institutions of the majority of the developing world's nations for millennia. In order to meet the ambitions of our people, which are based on the fundamental pillars of access, equality, quality, and affordable accountability, it is time for us to break out of the conventional mould. In line with the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, he added, "our national education programme would establish an educational system that is anchored in Indian culture."
