Less than two days after the duo attended the Golden Globes to celebrate the triumph of the Elvis movie, a biopic about Lisa Marie's late father, her death was announced by her mother, Priscilla.Priscilla, 77, issued a statement saying, "It is with a sad heart that I must deliver the tragic news that my beloved daughter Lisa Marie has left us."
I have never met a lady who was as passionate, courageous, or loving as she was.
"We request discretion as we work to process this tragic loss.
"Thank you for your prayers and love.
"At this time, no more remark will be made."
Lisa Marie's housekeeper allegedly discovered her "unresponsive" in the bedroom of her Calabasas residence.
She had been living with her ex-husband, Danny Keough, at the time, and he gave her CPR until the paramedics came.
She was transferred to the hospital after paramedics allegedly conducted CPR and were successful in regaining a pulse.
The reason for the cardiac arrest is unknown.
According to those who spoke with the publication, she complained of stomach aches early on Thursday morning that got worse.
As Priscilla Presley hurried to her daughter's bedside, she was seen on camera.
After Lisa Marie was brought to the hospital, her mother requested prayers in a previous statement to PEOPLE.
Lisa Marie, who I adore, was taken to the hospital right away, Priscilla recalled.
"She is now getting the greatest treatment." Please remember to pray for her and our family.
"We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy at this time."
Mother and daughter went to the 80th annual Golden Globes ceremony on January 11 in Los Angeles.
Austin Butler, who received the Best Actor - Drama award for his depiction of Elvis Presley, was the star of Baz Luhrmann's biopic about her father, which the pair went to celebrate the film's success.
Butler said, "I love you forever" as he thanked Priscilla and Lisa Marie for their support during his award speech.
