Rashid threatens to quit the BBL if playing against Afghanistan makes Australia feel uncomfortable enough for the CA to cancel the ODI series.

After Australia decided not to play in the next ODI series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates, Rashid Khan has made a forceful statement.

The Big Bash League (BBLstar )'s player Rashid Khan has threatened to quit after Cricket Australia (CA) chose to cancel a series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Australian cricket governing body has withdrawn from the One-Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan in response to the Taliban's efforts to further curtail women's rights in the war-torn country.

Rashid was just selected the Afghanistan T20I team's captain. After Afghanistan was eliminated from the T20 World Cup in November, Mohammad Nabi resigned as captain. Rashid took over for him.

Rashid, one of the most lethal bowlers in T20 cricket, was signed by the Adelaide Strikers in 2017. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has said he would think about his future in the Big Bash League after the shocking decision that Cricket Australia will not be playing the three-match ODI series against the Asian country in March.

"When I learned that Australia had withdrawn from the series against us in March, I was quite sad. I'm quite proud to represent my nation, and we've come a long way on the international scene. This CA judgement puts us back on that path. I wouldn't want to cause anyone discomfort in the BBL if playing against Afghanistan makes Australia feel so uncomfortable.

I will thus carefully examine how I want to go in that race "Thursday morning, Rashid tweeted about. After consulting with all interested parties, including the Australian government, Cricket Australia has decided to call off the ODI series against Afghanistan. Following a Taliban directive to prohibit Afghan girls from attending university permanently, CA made its judgement. Previously,Pacer for Afghanistan Naveen-ul-Haq announced his withdrawal from the Big Bash League when Australia decided not to play the series against the war-torn nation, forfeiting 30 tournament points.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has, in the meanwhile, called Australia's choice "pathetic." The ACB issued a statement saying, "The decision to withdraw... is unjust and unexpected and will have a detrimental impact."
