PSG Win Kisnorbo Loses For The First Time In Ligue 1

KISNORBO LOSES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LIGUE 1 AS PSG WINS.

PSG, the league's top team, defeated last-placed Angers 2-0, while Patrick Kisnorbo's Troyes fell to title-contending Marseille at home by the same score.

Patrick Kisnorbo, the former head coach of Melbourne City, has lost for the first time in Ligue 1 since taking over at Troyes.

On Wednesday, his team lost 2-0 at home to third-placed Marseille, with goals from Chancel Mbemba and Jordan Veretout.

In his playing days with Hearts, Leicester City, Leeds United, and Ipswich Town in the UK, Kisnorbo represented the Socceroos 18 times. He began his coaching career in one of Europe's "big five" divisions with a victory and a tie.

The football that Marseille plays is excellent. Although we still have a long way to go before reaching a higher level, Kisnorbo noted, "Since my arrival, I am already quite pleased of the progress."

"All the clubs in this Ligue 1 championship are strong." We are making progress little by little, but I'm still new around here. There is still a lot to be done to get better, especially in terms of how we want to play.

After 18 rounds and four points above the drop zone, Troyes sits in 13th place, 29 points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who won at home against the bottom-of-the-table Angers.

Hugo Ekitike and Lionel Messi both scored goals at Parc des Princes to help PSG increase their advantage at the top.Since winning the World Cup, Marseille has developed into a strong club team.

Messi just needed five minutes to have an impact almost four weeks after the championship game in Qatar against France. He made a beautiful spin close to the goal and sent the ball to Nordi Mukiele at right back, whose cross was converted by 20-year-old forward Ekitike.

The play that ended with Messi scoring in the 72nd minute was initiated by him, and it was promptly completed by Ekitike and Mukiele. His ninth league goal this year was first ruled out for offside, but after a video review, it was recognised.

Second-placed With a 2-2 draw at 19th-placed Strasbourg, Lens struggled to close the six-point lead at the top.

Rennes dropped to fourth after losing 2-1 at Clermont Foot and are now tied on points with Monaco, who required a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder in extra time to tie the game 2-2 at sixth-place Lorient.

Nice defeated Montpellier 6-1 for the night's largest victory, while Toulouse crushed Auxerre 5-0.

Reims defeated Ajaccio 1-0 in other matches, while Brest and Nantes held Lille and Lyon to scoreless draws.
