New Low-Cost Australian Airline Bonza Is Finally Set To Take To The Skies In 2023

In 2023, Bonza, a brand-new low-cost Australian airline, will start flying.

The new carrier will operate on 27 itineraries to 17 locations after receiving regulatory permission.

You'll have a new option to jet off on vacation, and your excursions in 2023 just became more affordable. Australian airline Bonza, which was first proposed in 2021, will eventually start flying in 2023 after receiving regulatory authorisation. The soon-to-be-launched airline wants to operate 27 routes to 17 sites, increase access to more of the nation's regional areas, and provide affordable tickets while doing so.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority issued the airline's Air Operator Certificate (AOC) today, January 12, according to Tim Jordan, CEO of Bonza (CASA).

As the nation's first independent low-cost carrier and the first high-capacity airline in more than 15 years, Jordan declared that this was a historic time for Australian aviation. 2023 is expected to be the year in which you may view more of your own backyard for less thanks to CASA's clearance.

With the necessary seal of approval now in place, Bonza may begin selling tickets for flights, beginning with those from its Sunshine Coast headquarters and moving on to flights from Melbourne, where it will also have a base. The names of the aircraft carrying passengers are as Australian as the airline itself: Bazza, Shazza, and Sheila.

You will need to download the airline's app in order to make a reservation, although the company hasn't said when that would be possible other than "soon." One of Bonza's unique selling features will be app-only bookings, unless you do so through a licenced local travel agency.

Another is a previously mentioned in-flight meal featuring only Australian cuisine and artisan beverages.

With a strong emphasis on regional travel, the airline will fly to places like Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay, Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville, and the Whitsundays in Queensland; Albury, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, and Port Macquarie in New South Wales; and Melbourne, Avalon, and Mildura in Victoria.

As a result of the carrier's network, it will enable customers to go to locations they otherwise may not have been able to reach; according to Bonza, 93% of its routes aren't currently covered by any other airlines, and 96% of them don't currently have a low-cost carrier.

The US private investment company 777 Partners, which also has a stake in Canada's Flair Airlines and the Southeast Asian-based Value Alliance, is supporting the launch of Bonza.

It will cost extra to add luggage and a seat preference; it will be less expensive to do so at the time of booking as opposed to subsequently.
