NFL playoffs set following Green Bay Packers loss to the Detroit Lions

NFL playoffs are set following the Detroit Lions' victory against the Green Bay Packers.

Following the Green Bay Packers' 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, the NFL playoffs are already determined.

The Seattle Seahawks secured the final NFC Wild Card position with the Packers' defeat.

The Miami Dolphins defeated the New York Jets 11-6 earlier on Sunday, securing the final AFC Wild Card position. The Dolphins are making their first postseason trip since 2016.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have locked up the top seeds in their respective conferences. In the first round of the playoffs the following week, both clubs will receive byes.

After an emotional victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills clinched the No. 2 place in the AFC Wild Card. Nyheim Hines of the Bills returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, and Damar Hamlin, who was watching from his hospital bed after having a heart episode during a game last Monday, delighted Twitter followers with play-by-play commentary of the game.

The Wild Card round begins on January 14 with two games, continues on January 15 with three games, and concludes on January 16 with one game. On February 12, Super Bowl LVII will take place at Glendale, Arizona's State Farm Stadium.

The No. 2 San Francisco 49ers and No. 7 Seattle Seahawks will square off at 4:30 p.m. ET in Levi's Stadium.

At 8:15 p.m. ET, TIAA Bank Field will play host to the No. 4 Jacksonville Jaguars and the No. 5 Los Angeles Chargers.

Sunday
At 1 p.m. ET, Highmark Stadium will play host to the No. 2 Buffalo Bills and the No. 7 Miami Dolphins.

At 4:30 p.m. ET, US Bank Stadium will play host to the No. 3 Minnesota Vikings and the No. 6 New York Giants.

At 8:15 p.m. ET, Paycor Stadium will play host to the No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals and the No. 6 Baltimore Ravens.

Monday
At 8:15 p.m. ET, Raymond James Stadium will play host to the No. 4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the No. 5 Dallas Cowboys.
