Erling Haaland is on course to shatter Premier League scoring recording 20th goal in just 15 matches

20 goals in just 15 games, Erling Haaland is on pace to break the Premier League scoring record.

It would appear that Erling Haaland can maintain his composure even after six weeks without participating in a competitive football game.

Since English domestic football resumed after the World Cup, the Norwegian goal machine has already scored three goals in two games, including his 19th and 20th Premier League goals in Manchester City's 3-1 victory over Leeds United on Wednesday.

Haaland has already scored 20 goals in just 15 games, putting him on pace to break Andy Cole and Alan Shearer's 34-goal Premier League scoring record.

That shared record, meanwhile, was set when 42 games were played in a season.

Mo Salah holds the record for the most goals scored in a season with 38 games, scoring 32 in 2017–2018.

Haaland, 22, will score a staggering 50 goals in the Premier League this season if he keeps scoring at his present clip.

Haaland became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach the milestone with his 20 goals in just 14 appearances after missing City's match against Leicester City in November due to injury.

After Wednesday's game, Shearer, who has 260 goals for the Premier League overall, told Amazon Prime that he now anticipates Haaland to score at least 40 goals this season.

That shared record, meanwhile, was set when 42 games were played in a season.
If the Norwegian international plays in English football, his own record is in threat.

Shearer said: "I think a good centre forward will get 20 goals, and a terrific centre forward, which he is, will have a figure in his mind, and it wouldn't surprise me if it's got a four in front." Shearer made this prediction before a single ball was kicked this season.

I adore his drive and hunger, as well as his attitude. He is the ideal centre forward if you were to design one from start. "He is good at everything," someone said.

However, Haaland would still fall short of English even if it scored 50 goals.

The late Everton striker Dixie Dean holds that record, scoring an astonishing 60 goals in just 39 games during the 1927–28 campaign.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of City, informed reporters following the victory over Leeds that Haaland is still not at his best, suggesting that reaching the 60-goal milestone may not be altogether out of the question. His remarks will instil fear into the hearts of defenders around the nation.

Guardiola told reporters, "I think he is still not at his best, like he was at the start of the season, because of the injury he suffered at Dortmund for a sustained length of time.

He was unable to train one single day—possibly the last day—when we first began to work out in Abu Dhabi, and to move this tall and heavy.

Guardiola referred to City's five-day warm weather training camp in December for players not participating in the World Cup when he remarked, "body is not easy for him.

Guardiola continued, "But as much as he can play, the more minutes will be better." "I got the impression he wasn't giving it his all." For the injury, only time will tell. He seemed to be an enormous threat to the other team all the time, in my opinion.

"The odds are astronomical, but I get the impression he's not just here for the odds; he wants to win it,"

Arsenal had briefly widened the gap with a win against Chelsea, but City's victory reduces it to five points at the top of the Premier League.
