Mike Pence did not file paperwork to run in 2024, spokesperson says

A spokesman claims Mike Pence did not submit the necessary papers to run in 2024.

Despite fake screenshots of a Federal Election Commission posting going viral online, the former vice president Mike Pence did not file to run for president in 2024 on Monday, according to his spokesperson.

Devin O'Malley, the former vice president's press secretary, posted on Twitter, "Former Vice President Mike Pence did not file to run for President today."

The screenshot of the FEC filing, which seems to be a hoax, was submitted by "Mike Richard Pence" and contained an Anderson, Indiana post office box address. "Michael" is Pence's entire first name. Pence has already filed documents from this address.

There have been rumours that Pence, who served as President Donald Trump's vice president, has been thinking about running for president in the upcoming general election.
Trump, who said last month that he was running for president a third time, has some conservatives searching for a replacement.

The 2020 presidential contest was lost by Trump.

Pence declined to say if he would support Trump if the GOP chose him once again as their nominee in an interview with USA TODAY last month.

Pence stated, "I believe there is a genuine desire for new leadership in the Republican Party. "Everywhere I've been in this nation, I hear individuals who are very pleased of the record of the Trump-Pence administration... but practically in the same sentence, I hear people say they want leadership that reflects the respect and civility that most Americans practise every day," said one traveller.
