The defending champion Gujarat Titans made some of the best purchases in the IPL 2023 auction, including Shivam Mavi, Joshua Little, and Kane Williamson.
The Gujarat Titans, champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, made some wise purchases in the auction on Friday. KS Bharat and Shivam Mavi cost the Hardik Pandya-led team a combined Rs. 6 crore and Rs. 1.2 crore, while Kane Williamson was acquired in a bargain deal (Rs 2 crore). With Ashish Nehra as their astute coach, the Gujarat Titans made some astute purchases during the auction. Mavi had to go for a bit of a premium because there aren't many effective Indian T20 bowlers on that list, despite the fact that the Rs 6 crore contract would draw attention.
There is a good likelihood that Kona Bharat, who was squandered as Rishabh Pant's backup for the Delhi Capitals last season, would start with Shubman Gill in place of the 38-year-old Wriddhiman Saha as the two bargain signings.
Kane Williamson might not be a lock for the starting lineup, but on unforgiving surfaces, he could be added as a calming presence.
