RCB selected left-handed left-handed seamer Reece Topley and English batsman Will Jacks for 3.2 crore (each) (Rs 1.90 crore).

With some more muscle in their roster following the IPL auction in 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore will maintain their chances of winning their first IPL crown. The team, which has recently made significant strides in its pace assault, has strengthened it even further with the addition of renowned England pacer Reece Topley. In England hitter Will Jacks (Rs 3.2 crore) and lanky left-arm seamer Topley (Rs 1.90 crore), who had recently plagued India in an ODI at Lord's, RCB had two modest but respectable options. They did express interest in a few players, but due to a lack of resources, they were unable to pursue them. They had 8.75 crore left in their bank account when they entered the mini auction.

In the IPL auction 2023, Jacks was the most expensive purchase made by RCB, while Sonu Yadav, Manoj Bhandage, and Himanshu Sharma were each acquired for 20 lakh.

Notably, Virat Kohli gave up his position as RCB captain at the conclusion of the IPL 2021.

He nevertheless remains a member of the group. The team advanced to Qualifier 2 of the IPL this year under the direction of new captain Faf du Plessis, where they were defeated by the Rajasthan Royals.
