After Argentina's victory over Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2022 semifinal, Lionel Messi was questioned by a reporter. During the conversation, the reporter became upset, and Messi's response to that cannot be overlooked.

One of the best players of all time, Lionel Messi, scarcely needs an introduction. With a commanding 3-0 victory against Croatia in the first semi-final, the footballing legend motivated Argentina to advance to the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. Messi was essential to Argentina's overall domination in the game in addition to scoring Argentina's first goal from the penalty spot. After Argentina successfully advanced to the final, Messi had an emotional interview with a reporter who thanked the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner for everything he had accomplished in his career.

The reporter allegedly remarked in the interview, "The last thing I want to tell you, and it's not a question, but I just wanted to say the World Cup final is coming, and certainly, we [Argentinians] want to win the cup."

"I just want to let you know that, regardless of the outcome, there is one thing that no one can take away from you: the fact that you connected with every single Argentine. I'm not kidding. There isn't a youngster without your team's flannel, whether it's fake, genuine, or made up. You truly left a lasting impression on everyone's life. And it, in my opinion, transcends any World Cup victory.

No one can take it away from you, and I want to express my thanks for the joy you offer to so many others.

Messi hinted that the 2017 FIFA World Cup final will be his final opportunity to wear the Argentina jersey after the semi-final victory. Messi's spectacular career has seen him win nearly everything, but the one prize he hasn't won is the FIFA World Cup. On December 18, when Argentina plays France in the championship match of the current big tournament in Qatar, Messi will try to get this monkey off his back.

Argentina had also advanced to the 2014 FIFA World Cup final, but Mesi's team lost to Germany by a score of 1-0. This time, La Albiceleste will be looking for better luck.
