The Sydney Sixers are a professional men's cricket franchise from Australia that competes in the Big Bash League, a domestic Twenty20 cricket league in that country (BBL). The New South Wales Blues, who competed in the long-gone KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, were replaced by the Sixers and the Sydney Thunder. The Thunder play at Sydney Showground Stadium farther west, while the Sixers take the court at Sydney Cricket Ground in the inner city's southeast. The first coach was Trevor Bayliss, who was succeeded by Greg Shipperd in 2015. Brad Haddin, an Australian wicketkeeper, served as the Sixers' first captain. Both Moises Henriques and Steve Smith have served as the team's captain at various points.
